Why We Built Mo's Word — And Why We Want You to Play Every Day
Mo's Word is not a side tab we tossed on the site for decoration. It is the first game on the Games page for a reason: everybody on the porch gets the same 5-letter station word today.
The Games page says these are original, radio-themed games made for Mo's Place Radio — quick, feel-good things to play while the stream rolls. Mo's Word sits there with On-Air Trivia and Lyric Drop as a way to test your music-station brain without putting the radio down.
What Mo's Word is
It is a daily 5-letter word. Teal means you nailed a letter. Gold means the letter is in the word, wrong spot. Gray means it is not in the word. You get six tries, from the keyboard or by tapping the keys on the page.
The tag on the board is simple: Today's puzzle. The status line reminds you it is the same word for everyone today. If you get it, the game tells you that you nailed it in however many guesses — same word as every other listener. If you miss it, it shows the word and tells you to come back tomorrow.
Why we built it
We did not need another generic time-killer. We needed a station game. The Games intro is the brief: play while you listen. Kick back with DJ Mo and the Pack. Trop Rock, Classic Rock, Country, Yacht Rock, Blues, and a little Merrimack Valley sunshine packed into original porch games.
Mo's Word is that idea in five letters. One word. One day. The whole porch on the same puzzle. You can leave the stream on, guess a row, and go back to the song. That is why it exists.
A new word every day
The daily games refresh at midnight Eastern. The same fresh puzzles wait for everyone that day. Mo's Word says it again on the board: new one at midnight Eastern. Come back tomorrow for a new one. Come back tomorrow for a fresh daily set. That is the habit we want — not a binge, a daily stop on the porch.
The station word list
Today's word is not typed in by hand each morning. The Games page keeps its own station word list — a bank of 5-letter words the puzzle draws from — so the porch can keep getting a new station word. We are not going to throw a number at you that the public page never printed. The list is there, it is the station's, and it is how the daily word keeps coming.
Share it. Challenge a friend. Check the porch board.
The fun is not only solving it. The fun is that your neighbor got the same word.
When the round is over, Mo's Word gives you a Share result button. It copies your colored-square score — the same kind of grid you can paste to a friend — plus a line that says play while you listen, and the Games page address. The Games page also has a Share on Facebook button for the whole porch of games.
Want bragging rights on the station itself? After a round you can send first name and town to the porch board for that game. Email stays with the studio and is never shown. Check any game's board anytime. That is how a daily word turns into a little conversation.
How it fits Mo's Place
Mo's Word lives on the same page as On-Air Trivia, Pack Match, Lyric Drop, Casey's Call, Trop Drop, Trop Pop, tic-tac-toe against DJ Mo, Solitaire, Blackjack, and Porch Slots. You can listen live from there. You can meet the Pack from there. The footer still says Dracut, Massachusetts, Merrimack Valley internet radio: play nice, listen loud.
That is the whole invitation. Leave the station on. Play today's word. Come back tomorrow. If a friend asks what you are doing on your phone, send them the result and the Games page.
